March Tools PreK Teacher of the Month, Joanna Batog, and her New Jersey preschoolers are looking forward to seeing their tulips bloom. Children eagerly write and draw what they observe at each stage of tulip growth to document the changes they see.

Tracking tulips

Budding scientists plant bulbs in a container and observe daily changes. Children watch as roots take hold and tiny sprouts emerge.

Observations bloom

Ms. Batog’s children share what they notice with peers and make connections. Then, each learner translates their observations into drawings and writing in their science journals.

Let’s zoom in on those journals!

Ms. Batog loves that Tools science activities encourage “curiosity, collaboration, and a love of discovery.”

Thank you to Ms. Batog and her preschoolers for sharing their springtime science investigation with us!
