Tools Preschool visit: Ms. Novielli’s class is going shopping!

If you’ve never visited a Tools classroom, join us as we take a look at what’s happening inside! Each month, one Tools PreK teacher posts photos and updates on their classroom happenings. Here, meet our November PreK Tools Teacher of the Month, Cassandra Novielli.

Ms. Novielli teaches a mixed-age class in New Jersey and is currently in her second year teaching with Tools. Since adopting Tools, she sees “a great impact on students' learning and self-regulation.” She also sees how seamlessly her children use what they know to learn new things. 

As they jump into their Grocery theme, the class works together to map out what their store will look like. The children have lots of ideas! They are able to describe not only the kind of foods they will be able to get at the store, but also many of the tasks they will do before and afterwards, such as making a list beforehand, putting their cart back afterwards, and putting the groceries away once they get home.

Once the grocery is stocked and ready, children make their grocery lists. 

At the store, a fellow shopper helps find those grapes!
